Difference between siding brands and roofs

Does anyone know the difference between the roofing brands Owens Corning and Gaff? And vinyl siding? We are getting estimates and I don't know what we should be looking for.

dh is a roofer and he says that he likes gif shingles. they are more used here where as he says owen is used more in the south. they are both good he says .

I can't say much about the brands you mentioned. But just recently, my mom got new vinyl siding installed from Champion Window. We liked what they did, so call them if there's one in your area. You can also try looking at Home Depot and Lowe's and see what they have. Just make sure that the products used are energy-efficient (yes, makes a big difference to your utility bills!), and the installation is perfect. Because if it's not, you could face problems in the future.
