part time job question
would you be someones personal assistant for one day a week. duties include grocery shopping, picking up dry cleaning, getting car washed, returning things at the mall etc. The pay would be $10/hr one day a week for about 4 hours...

I don't know... I think it depends on the person's situation. If the person considering the job has plenty of time and really needs the money, it might be well worth it. $40/week isn't likely to be enough to sustain someone who really needs a significant amount of extra income.
Is the person who is hiring going to reimburse for gas costs? If the personal assistant is going to have to run a lot of errands by car and is only getting $10/hour, gas costs may significantly cut into what they are making.
All that being said, it does sound like a good job for maybe a stay-at-home mom who is looking to earn some extra income when the kids are in school. Or I could see it being a good fit for a college or grad student.
For someone who needs more income, maybe it would be a good starting point for a business where you could attract muliple clients who need this type of service.

I am starting to have second thoughts, it does pay for gas but $40 is not that much money to make a change in my ever growing bills, plus I work 8-4 every day...so it is one day after work. I dont know what to do...

It might be worth it if you're already doing those errands for yourself, and now you're just doing that while you're running your own errands.

For me, nope.
My time alone would not be worth it for forty bucks. Also is that taxed?
I agree with a PP that this sounds like a good fit for someone who is a student or a SAHM just looking to get out of the house/make some spending $/keep their resume looking fresh for if they do plan to head back into the job market.

No because I work full time Monday- Friday. I leave home at 7:30 and get home at 7. I have no interest in working part time on the side.
But maybe I would have considered that when I was in college.
