Recommendations for Pediatrician in Queens
Hello ladies.....
I am 25 weeks along and wanted to start some research on a Pediatrician for when our arrives....but I have no idea where to start. The ladies on the Pregnancy boards said to try here, so here I am!!
I am in Whitestone...so anything close or within 15-20 mins would be great.
TIA!

Recommendations for Pediatrician in Queens
I take DS to Astoria Pediatrics. They have a location in Bayside. Drs. mike and Chris Iordanou are great, although Dr. mike has better bedside manner.

I live in Whitestone and take DS to Dr. Markouizos in Astoria, I love how caring and knowledgable he is and not pushy with vaccines, we do one at a time and he is great about it. And he really does love kids, he is so sweet and truly cares. Doesn't rush you out, answers all questions and takes his time with you.

Children's Medical Group. I live in Whitestone also and I highly recommend them, I have referred family and friends and we are all happy with their care. Clean, minimal (no wait really lol) and very nice, helpful doctors.

26-11 Corporal Kennedy St
Another perk is it is a residental block so parking is easy!

Not sure how far Astoria is, but I take my dd to Dr. Paul's Pediatrics in Astoria. (212)932-6300. They also have a location in Glendale. He is a great doctor and rarely makes you wait. He also has late hours and Saturday hours, which is helpful for working moms.

Re: Recommendations for Pediatrician in Queens
We go to dr. Takhalov . He is in FH. We interviewed him when I was pregnant with my first 5 yrs ago and now DS goes to him too. He has late and Sunday hrs. Oh and this is a solo practice, which I love, he really knows my kids and remembers everything, I hate group practices.

Re: Recommendations for Pediatrician in Queens
I live in astoria and go to Mds4kids. i am happy with them. Nice clean office, friendly doctors. It can get ough traveling with an infant out there if you make evening appts. (traffic) But as long as I went during the day or mornings it was worth it. I tried a doctor in queens, but went back to mds after two months.
i have heard great things about Dr. Paul and would have given him a try if i had not gone back to mds.

Astoria: Mon: 11am-8pm Tues: 9am-5pm Wed: 11am-8pm Thurs: 9am-5pm Fri: 11am-1pm Sat: 9am-1pm
Glendale: Mon: 9am-12:30pm Tues: 1:30pm-8pm Wed: NO OFFICE HOURS Thurs: 1:30pm-8pm Fri: 9am-12:30pm Sat: 9am-1pm
I'm not sure where Dr. Paul is on each of those days, he has another doctor, Dr. Cathryn who is good too. I mainly see Dr. Paul, but if he's not available for a non-well visit, Dr. Cathryn, is good too.

I've been using this practice for the past 4 years since my DD was born and it's just been okay for me. There are definitely long waits sometime. It's so random--sometimes it's 5 minutes, other times I have literally waited an HOUR. They'll stick you in an exam room for a looong amount of time. Ugh--I'd rather be in the waiting room with the kids, you know?
The upside is that you can always get an emergency appointment because of the number of doctors, although you may not have a choice in who you see.
If using this practice, my advice is to pick one or two doctors and always ask to see them. When the front desk schedules your visit, they do it without regard to which doctor you see but you can always request. I personally like Dr. Fell and Dr. Capilupi the best. I also like Dr. Millington but she only works part-time so it's much harder to get an appt with her. I'm just ehh on Dr. Hogan, Cohen, and Kahan and will only see them for emergency sick visits.
Hope that helps. Good luck!

I just wanted to throw in that I grew up in Bayside and used this practice. Dr. Kahan & Hogan were part of the team that basically saved my life. I was really sick and they were amazing, knowlegeable and had really nice bedside manners. Dr. Capilupi & Fell were interns when I was there! haha. Millington is Capilupi's wife and she's great too.
I agree about the really long wait times, it's because if the kids are sick, they'll always tell you to just bring them in as soon as you can...sometimes, there was no seating in their pretty big wait room.
I use Dr. Rosenblum in astoria. We're very happy with him.

Re: Recommendations for Pediatrician in Queens
Does anyone know how the parking situation is at Bayside Pediatric? I know how parking can be anywhere on bell. Do they have a parking lot?

We go here as well and I love them. We had Dr Nick and he was amazing. Truly loved him, now we have Dr M and he is not only knowleadable but is open to questions and is super sweet to DS. The office is really clean and they have evening and weekend hours which is great.
