Name opinion

My all time favorite boy name is Colin. Problem is my last name starts with a c also and a "hard" c.

I'm am not sure I can even get a true opinion without telling you my last name but figures I would see what people's thoughts are.
So
Colin C....
A name with first and last name starting with same sound? Anyone doing this?

I think it isn't the double c that is bothering me just the way it sounds...what do you think?

Just for example, the 1st hard “C” last name I thought of was, Carter. So, Colin Carter - I think it sounds fine. Or Carter Cunningham. Still sounds good. I don’t think two hard “C’s” sound bad together.

I think it sounds good even though I don't know your last name. I thought of Colin Cowie (wedding planner) and that sounds totally fine.

I know plenty of people that do repeat the same sound/letter but for me personally, I am not a fan of the first name having the same letter as my last name. Therefore, I've eliminated all "B" names from my lists.

There is nothing wrong with replicating the letter, it's just a personal preference. If you love the name Colin, then use it. Don't regret not choosing the name you've always loved.

I think that sounds good.
I just dont like names that have the same last letter as the 1st letter in the last name.
Such as Luckas S---.

I think the double C's will be fine. I was a double G (same sound) until I got married and I don't think it matters.

We are naming our son a name with a hard C and our last name starts with a hard C. I don't think is sounds bad at all.... and everyone seems to think it goes well together!

I think its ok..we are doing a double K name..I am not a huge huge fan..but we were unable to agree on any other name for our DS.

I think its completely fine.. I really looved the name Tristan and my last name is Thomas , thought it would be cute but DH doesnt like Tristan so that was out :( I think if it flows nicely there is nothing wrong with naming your kid with 2 C's. :)

I was lobbying for Liam, but DH and my olter son (Sean) vetoed it.

Thanks everyone for your opinions glad to see some people like it! We are team and we aren't going to decide till the baby is born but def gonna keep it as a contender. Our other boys names are:

I grew up with 2 hard Cs. Now that I have my married name, I miss it.

If we have a daughter it will be Peyton P. at first I was like eh but we are in love with the name.

Love the name Colin. (It's DS's name!) Half the "congrats" cards we've received have spelled it wrong lol. The double Cs doesn't bother me. I always like names like that -- they roll well.

Our two are Colin and Megan. I love how their names are similar that way. Our last name ends with "man" so it also has that same sound. Has a good ring to it IMHO.
