What can I keep?
We still don't have power in Long beach. We emptied most of our fridge a few days ago, but left a lot of jarred condiments in there. Threw away anything dairy or cream based. Do I have to throw away butter? I know a lot of people don't refridgerate butter to begin with.
I have: mustard - Dijion jarred minced garlic oyster sauce (throwing away - I just read it will go bad) hoison sauce (same) soy sauce bbq sauce ketchup preserves/jelly 2 bottles of decent champagne (not throwing away but I wonder if it will be bad now...) dry sherry (not cooking sherry, real sherry, but I only use it to cook) sesame oil lemon curd
What do you think I can save?

What can I keep?
I think everything but the hoisin and oyster sauces should be fine. I doubt the champagne should be too adversely affected.

Re: What can I keep?
My general rule of thumb is when in doubt, throw it out. But if you're trying to keep some items...
butter - throw away mustard - Dijion - should be fine jarred minced garlic - throw away soy sauce - keep (does not have to be refrigerated in general) bbq sauce - keep ketchup - keep preserves/jelly - keep 2 bottles of decent champagne (not throwing away but I wonder if it will be bad now...) - if unopened, they are fine dry sherry (not cooking sherry, real sherry, but I only use it to cook) - should be fine, but smell it lemon curd - questionable. I'd throw it away.

The chart on this site is helpful: Food Safety
I like that it lists the specific condiments.

This. Once things are refrigerated then they should stay cold.

Re: What can I keep?
I threw out everything in my fridge. Jams, dressings, ketchup, soy sauce.............all of it, garbage. The thought of using it after losing power for so many days just grossed me out. It's an expense to have to replace it all but I didn't feel comfortable keeping anything.

Re: What can I keep?
I just threw everything out. The way I see it, the cost of all the condiments put together is less than the ER copay I'd be forking over for the projectile vomiting and dehydration from food poisoning

What can I keep?
I kept my condiments: ketchup, dressings, mustard, jelly & syrup. Also the butter. Butter doesn't actually have to be refrigerated, but most of us keep it in there anyway.

Still tasty says butter needs refrigeration and only can be left at room temperature for a day or so, then it begins to spoil rapidly.
Still tasty says jelly needs refrigeration, as does the jelly jar.
It is very dangerous to eat spoiled food, btw! I would not suggest anyone take this lightly, esp during these times with gas shortages, power outages, etc. http://www.stilltasty.com/fooditems/index/16649
