Front entryway flooring
I have wood floors throughout the house, including the landing when you enter the house. The wood there is destroyed from water on shoes upon entry into the house. I want to put in some sort of stone tile there instead. DH does not think it will look right since we don't have any stone anywhere else in the house other than in the bathrooms.

Re: Front entryway flooring
We also have wood floors through out & entry way... We keep a throw rug there so no wear, wet, etc issues...

Re: Front entryway flooring
We have a throw rug too, but it has soaked through the rug. It had a rubbery bottom, but I guess over time it has worn out. Aside from getting a bathroom type mat, I don't really know what to put there to prevent the damage.

Re: Front entryway flooring
We have tile and I think it looks good. To the left is wood floors in the lr and to the right are wood floors goin up the stairs(split house) and the foyer in between is tile. Doesn't look out of place at all, it defines it as a foyer I think

Re: Front entryway flooring
We have stone tile in the foyer and wood floors throughout the rest of the house, with the exception of the den. I don't think it looks weird at all. Like another poster mentioned, I think it defines it as a foyer/entryway.
