Where to Stay in Honolulu?
Can you please recommend a hotel that my husband and I can stay in for one night in Honolulu? We will be vacationing in Hawaii for 11 days but only doing one night in Honolulu. We plan to stay in the Grand Hyatt Kauai and the Maui Four Seasons. Since we'll only be staying over one night in Honolulu we'd like to not break the bank here. However, we would appreciate something clean, somewhat updated and nice staff, etc. with a convenient location. We get in around 6:30pm, plan to nap, eat dinner somewhere and then see Pearl Harbor the next day before flying to the next island.
Any suggestions?
TIA!

I swear by the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach. It's very reasonably priced, right on the beach, across from the International Marketplace, clean and the staff is great. We've stayed there 4 times and have never been disappointed.

Re: Where to Stay in Honolulu?
I also love the Outrigger chain- The Reef is another great hotel downtown and right on the beach.
However, if your only there one night to see Pearl Harbour, I would say you could stay at Ohana Airport Hotel (owner by Outrigger). It really is right down the road from the base. I stayed there a weekend (family lives in base housing). Its NO THRILLs and could use updating. (Not reccomended if that was your vacation) But for one night it is clean and cheap (like $100 plus less then downtown) and really nice staff. Very small (right on the high way- but you really don't notice). They offer a free shuttle to the airport. I swear I was in my room in under a half hour from landing. It's five minutes to Pearl Harbour too. After a long flight that meant alot. (Alot of people seem to stay there in between flights for just a night.) Alot of military were there when I was there too. Taxis get there in five minutes (because they park near the airport). You would need to have a car or call a taxi to go eat, but plenty right near by (try Pearlridge mall-Anna Millers)

We stayed at the Ilima Hotel. Very clean, slightly outdated but only 2 blocks from the beach. Really reasonable too.
