Pesche Con Crema (Peaches with Cream)...is it doable for a non-baker??

My DH loves loves these and my MIL usually makes them for him but has stopped because she says it's too much work for her. He's been asking for them for a couple of years now so I was thinking of doing it. Am I crazy??? I have 2 kids so I am hesitant but I know it would make him happy.

What do you think? will it be too difficult for me? I am thinking of doing some of them with chocolate filling too. I am not a baker at all!

Alli I know is I would make a MESS of those.
To me, there is a part of baking that is not hard- following the recipe, measuring the ingrediants, etc
But then there is a part that requires some level of finesse and artisticness- a level that I do not posseses.
So I can just see what mine would like like!
Certainly not like that pretty picture that is for sure! Chat Icon
But then again, I can't wrap a gift nicely either.
So it all depends- do you feel like you are neat enough, patient enough, etc to create them properly?
If yes, go for it!

That's what I am worried about. If I don't have the kids with me and I am just concentrating on doing this and this alone then I could see myself doing it. I just don't want to screw it up!!!!

So I just watched that tutorial and they don't seem difficult to make. I say give it a shot. You can prepare the dough and stick it in the fridge and then bake and assemble once the kids go to bed on like a Friday or Saturday night so you don't have to worry about getting up for work the next day (I know you have to get up for the kids but I feel that is different then getting up for work)

Definitely! Even if they aren't the prettiest things, I'm sure they'll taste damn good! Chat Icon
