Rash on ring finger..
For a few months my right hand was very irriatated and had a rash where I would wear a ring, I stopped wearing it.
My ring finger on my left hand now has the rash. I dont want to stop wearing my wedding and ering. I started putting aquaphor on it which helps a little.
What the heck is this from? I used to spray my rings with windex and assumed it was from that but have not done this in a couple months..any remedies? thanks

The same exact thing is happening to me! i am going to the dermotoligist on wend to see what its about, more the likley i am allergic to the nickle that is in the ring. even gold rings have a certain amount of nickel in them and thats what people are usually allergic to , not the gold.

I've been wearing my wedding band for four years and wrong almost six! Is it possible to develop an allergy after all this time?

Re: Rash on ring finger..
I used to get it when I washed my hands with my rings on. Now I take them off and dry my hands well and no more rash

Rash on ring finger..
I have the same problem! I have to really dry my hands before I put my ring back on or the itchy rash comes back right away!

Rash on ring finger..
This is so odd, I was gonna post the same thing. I've been wearing my rings for 4 yrs and the last month I've developed an itchy rash there. It's dots and sometimes almost scaly. What is this!?

Rash on ring finger..
Get your rings cleaned by a jewler and keep them off for a few days until the rash clears up. Soaps, lotions, daily grime and dirt all can get caught under the band and especially if the bottom of the ring is open where the diamonds are. The build up can cause the irritation. Also make sure you dry your hands and rings super good after washing.
That's what helped me at least. Now when I notice my finger beginning to itch I get them cleaned and it doesn't get worse.

Re: Rash on ring finger..
Bring your rings to the jeweler for a good cleaning... sounds like there is fungus growing in it. try not to shower with them on, the water and soap cause the fungus. when I clean them in hot windex, I always to a tootpick and get inside the rigdes under the ring with a paper towel. stopped happening.
Cortisone cream helped clear it up quick

Re: Rash on ring finger..
It could be several different things.
After I had my son, I started to develop a rash where my rings were on my left hand. It wasn't an allergy to the rings since my rings are platinum and have no nickel in them.
Turns out I developed eczema completely unrelated to the rings, it's just coincidence that it started there. I now get it in several different places on both hands and just have to try and manage it with keeping my hands moisturized and steroid cream. Unfortunately, for me, there is no cure for it and it comes and goes.
I hope whatever the cause for you it goes away.

Re: Rash on ring finger..
I've worn my ring for 5 years and have had this same problem for the last 2. When I had my son, my knuckles got slightly bigger and my ring was a little tighter on my finger. I finally went to a jeweler to have it resized, I went from a 6 1/4 to a 6 3/4. He told me the rash was from it being too tight. Two weeks later, it was gone and no more itchy ring finger!

Rash on ring finger..
This happened to me when I didn't dry my hands well....and when my rings were too tight. I had a sizer to make it fit...but I guess my finger gained weight and as soon as I took them off the rash stopped happening and went away. Maybe your rings are getting tighter on you
