Any HS teachers question
Just curious as to what other high schools do for midterms. My district changed the procedure this year and I'm trying to find out what other districts do.
Do you have a midterm week? Do kids come in take a rest and go home? Where do the kids take the tests?
Thanks

Any HS teachers question
At our school we have a week of midterms. The kids go in, take their test, and leave. They also have study sessions in before, after and in between. Study sessions are with their teacher, usually half hour to an hour long. A test schedule is made ahead of time that plans out where the tests will be taken, what times, etc.

Re: Any HS teachers question
We normally have 4 days of school where there are no classes, but the students come in to take their tests.
This year, however, because of the hurricane, those days have been converted to normal class days so we get back 4 days of class. Mid terms are also not being given this year, so we get back the additional days we would have used for review as well.

Re: Any HS teachers question
In years past, we had a week devoted to midterms/regents where students only attend their scheduled exams.
Last year, when the January Regents were cancelled, they eliminated midterm week. When Regents week was back on, classes stayed in session and then certain students were pulled out for exams.
This year I am at a different school and they have gone back to a regents/midterm week where students only attend their scheduled exam.

This is very similiar to my school except we had 3 days. Now I think we are only having 1

I work at a private H.S on L.I.
However, when I worked at Lawrence S.D they used to do it that way too.
