Newtown CT & Sandy Hook Elementary Fund
A few years ago I relocated from NY to Newtown, CT. My family moved here for the excellent schools and the amazing community. We have been blessed to make many friends and love living here. Our hearts are broken at the loss of so many little ones. My son is in elementary school here thankfully not sandy hook. He is in first grade and for 15 minutes on Friday i did not know if it was his school where the shooting occurred. It was the longest time of my life. Our friends lost their son, and I had to tell my 7 year old that his friend had been killed at school. It all so senseless.
I want to share with people, esp. my NY friends, what an amazing place Newtown is to live. People stop you in the street to say hello, to ask if you need help, they know the names of your kids.
A fund has been set up for people who wish to donate to Sandy Hook: Sandy Hook School Support Fund c/o Newtown Savings Bank 39 Main Street Newtown, CT 06470. I know some on this board have expressed interest in helping the families, if you need someone in town to coordinate it I would be happy to help.
Please pray for the families and our 26 angels. Thank you

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire community. I am heartbroken like I knew these kids and adults personally although I did not

Thank you for sharing this information. So sorry for the loss of your friend's son. Many prayers for their family and for the families of all the other children and teachers. One of the teachers who was killed was a friend of my daughter-in-law.
