DeQuervain's (wrist) tendonitis
Has anyone ever had DeQuervain's tendonitis before (wrist tendonitis)? Just wanted to see if the pain resolved on its own over time... I've had this ever since a few weeks post partum (My DS is now over 16 weeks). Sometimes the pain is dormant, but tends to come back from time to time (especially after waking up in the morning) and my wrist will feel painful if i turn it a certain way, and feel like its "popping" out of place. I did see an orthopedist in early october (where I was diagnosed) but had to stop attending because I found out they didn't take my insurance after all. I'd like to see if I can resolve this on my own, if at all possible.. thanks!

Re: DeQuervain's (wrist) tendonitis
I have this issue. Wrist braces help a GREAT deal. I also put flector patches on my wrists, but I find the braces work more

Yes!!! I had this also after the birth of DD. it's also called "mommy thumb". It's from the position of wrist from carrying/holding baby. My thumb would pop/get stuck and was so painful. The thumb spica splint did nothing for me. I saw an orthopedist who specializes in hand and wrist injury. He have me a cortisone shot in the joint, and like magic, it was instantly gone. Best decision ever! The shot did hurt and joint was sore for a day or 2 but it was worth it.

Re: DeQuervain's (wrist) tendonitis
Mine keeps coming back. I got it after dd was born. My last shots were in Aug I think. My left hand is much better after the shots. It's my right that I had to have a second shot in ( in aug, original shots were done in may for both). I'm thinking I may need the surgery as braces are not giving me any sort of relief. I just put icy hot on my wrist bc they were cramping while I payed here. During the day they don't hurt, just at night. It's very annoying.
