Vacations with a one year old?
DH will have to pick his vacation weeks next month and it got me thinking about our annual anniversary trip. DD will be 13 months at the time so I was thinking something age appropriate, not Disney or Hershey or any theme park. She is too young IMO. It would be a week long trip, flying or driving. What do you suggest?

Vacations with a one year old?
Any beach/ warm vacation. I took DS to Disney at 10 months and we stayed off property and only went to Disney one day. He loves the water and we spent the week in the pools at our resort.

Would something like Beaches make sense? Or are you suggesting just any all-inclusive resort?

We did Disney in 2011 (just me and DH) so want to wait a few years to go back so DD can enjoy it.

A Beaches would be ideal because they are kid friendly and have a lot of activities and programs for kids.

I took a cruise to caribbean when DS was 8 months. Will do it again now that my youngest is going to be one! It's really easy!

Vacations with a one year old?
I would not want to be confined on a boat with a one year old - I'd try the Caribbean or Hilton head SC - very family friendly

True... We were in 3 beachy stops and got out water fix that way. But, technically no babies in the pool. Our DS was very active, so he walked around the boat all day, took his nap, ate, walked some more. We did excursions the rest of the time. It's easy not to fly (which wastes a day each way).
Pricing out "Beaches"... Turks and Caicos with a flight, it seemed like too much for me for what kids would get out of it... And it certainly wouldn't be for me! We would wait at least another year (our DD is 1 yr old).
At this stage, your DD isn't going to get much out of a vacation, so chose a place for you and your hubby that's not child unfriendly and that won't be too hard to get to (I hated flying with DS when he was 14 months...)
I've never been to Hilton head. It sounds like fun...

Re: Vacations with a one year old?
We did a cruise with DS and loved it. He was 9 months old. They have a kiddie pool that DH took him in. We took him in the big pool once when we were at see all day and nobody cared. Another time we were told he couldn't be in there. The staff was great with keeping him a little occupied and distracted while eating. Even took him to the nicer restaurants.

We are booking Puerto Rico for Feb. She won't need a passport and it's only a 4 hour flight.
