I love United Methodist in Bellmore. My 2 sons both went there and my daughter will when she is old enough (she is in mommy and me ther enow and can start the separation class in the fall when she is 2.5 yrs - they didn't offer separation at 2.5 when my boys were that young). I can't say anything bad. FM me if you have questions. The teachers there really care about the kids, they come out very prepared for kindergarten, the kids my sons met are still some of their best friends and the moms I met are my best local mommy friends! (my oldest son is in 2nd grade).

I believe registration for most schools start in January for the fall. So I'd start looking now. I know Methodist open house is usually January some time.

My DS goes to Twin Oaks. He is in the 3 year old class. He loves it! He goes 5 days a week full day. He looks forward to it every day and tells me how much fun he has. He is writing his name and today came home telling me information about a bunch of different states!! I highly recommend!

I just wanted to say I have nothing against the teachers, it was the pastors behavior while the children were in the classroom that was completely out of control. She stormed in WHILE the children were in the room, screamed at the teachers (who subsequently left and started there own school), took all their records including emergency records and locked them in her office until one of the parents called the police. We got letters home from her that were eye brow raising, definitely not Christian behavior, in fact the letters were the reason we chose to leave and join the FOUR teachers who left at the new school. I have nothing against the teachers in Bellmore but I would not put my child anywhere that looney woman has access to my child -- and according to her "its HER school, and HER children, and she can do what SHE wants at that school"

My twins went to St. Johns from age 2 to Prek. My youngest is in the 2 yr. old program now. The teachers are all very nice. I liked it and my kids liked/like it. Good luck.

I highly recommend the Jcc in Merrick. You don't have to be Jewish. I'm fact, MANY (ar least half) of the students are not! However, they only learn about and celebrate the Jewish holidays. If you're not Jewish that may bother you. We did thorough research and visited some of the schools on your list and Jcc was the best- perfect balance of a structured learning environment with play.
Fm me if you have any questions.
