Help - very confused
i had natural m/c last wed and saw dr yesterday and bloodwork..... dr said once my beta gets to zero should get AF within 10 days it seems like everyone gets AF about 4-5 weeks after m/c
the office just called and said my beta is zero and they said i should get AF soon again if my m/c was a week ago - wouldnt AF not be coming for 3-4 weeks? Do they mean that the week of bleeding i had with m/c was AF? But obviously i wouldnt have known i was having a m/c without the bleeding
What exactly happens after a m/c? Does your body treat it like a period and start the ovulation cycle again? Or do you not ovulate between when you have a m/c and when you get AF again?

First off, im so sorry for your loss
How far along were you? So once your hcg level is 0, AF usually comes within 2 weeks. I wouldnt count your mc as AF. I would wait until you get your first AF after the MC.
Its depends on your body, but in generally you can obvulate between MC and getting AF. I know a few people that MC and got pregnant after and never got AF.

Re: Help - very confused
Thanks
I was 4.5 weeks......today is day 9 after m/c and my hcg is 0 ....so i should get AF in 2 weeks? This is so confusing - most peoples posts say they got AF 4-5 weeks after m/c - is that b/c their hcg took longer to go down? Is it just one of those things where everyone is different and it varies from person to person?

how long did you bleed for? was it like a regular period. Unfortunately given how early you were. Did you have levels previously. Could it have been a chemical pregnancny? Again, im so very sorry.
the reason im asking is b/c if it was a chemical, then i would just count the bleeding as AF, and AF might come right on schedule, when you next period was suppose to be due.

yes it was a couple of days - pretty much like my normal AF. I had tested positive on 3 pregnancy tests at 10 & 11 DPO and stopped testing. Had symptoms up until day before m/c. Im not sure what the difference is with a chemical?
Thanks for the info

Re: Help - very confused
This is from the American pregnancy association. Chemical pregnancies may account for 50-75% of all miscarriages. This occurs when a pregnancy is lost shortly after implantation, resulting in bleeding that occurs around the time of her expected period. The woman may not realize that she conceived when she experiences a chemical pregnancy.
So this maybe the category you fall into.which means that the bleeding you mostly experienced was AF. which means you wouldn't get AF until its due again.
But I'm just hypothesizing, im not saying this as this is what happened.

So sorry for your loss. For me bc my miscarriages happen so early, I have to treat it like a period. I normally have 30 day cycles, and that stayed the same from day 1 of miscarry to my next period. I think I even asked this very question on here , bc I didn't know either. You can ovulate between your period, I've actually heard you are more fertile during the first few months.

Re: Help - very confused
I am so sorry for your loss. I had a natural mc in Sept at about 6 weeks along and it took over 3 months for AF to show up. Sending you many hugs.
