Resume Question
I know this is personal, but would any teachers from public schools be willing to send me a copy of their resume? Obviously you can take out name/address/etc, but I'm looking for examples of teachers currently employed with public schools.
I started my resume when I was getting my Master's, and I feel as if I need to completely scrap it and start over because it isn't showcasing my achievements and accomplishments in an effective way.
I'm also in a private school, and I know for a fact that it wouldn't help much to look at the resume of any of my peers.
Thank you so, so much.

Re: Resume Question
i don't have a copy to send you (plus it would be 6 years old) but i have sat on numerous interview committee's at my school so i can tell you just a few things that have popped up:
make sure your email address is included at the top and is professional
make sure to state your certifications in the beginning
state your education
state your experience (i would only include student teaching if you only have a few years experience and in your case if it was in a public school) in the experience i would be sure to mention technology, common core standards, collaboration with teachers, communication with parents, after school activities
if you've had leadership roles or curriculum writing experience i would put that separately under leadership
if you belong to any professional organizations include that.
don't include any work that is not a teaching job, or anything from college
some of this may seem obvious to you so i apologize if it does, but you should see some of the ****** resumes people send in!! it's unbelievable! with crazy email addresses and that they work in cvs and got an award for community service in college

Re: Resume Question
Paper resumes are kind of obsolete. OLAS is what most school districts use.

this is not what the op was asking about
and regardless doesnt olas ask you to upload your resume file?
and for the record my district asks you to bring 10 copies of your resume to your first interview

I appreciate all of this! I student taught/had a year long paid internship in a public school, and in addition to being in my current position I've also had leave replacements in 3 public schools.
I've done quite a bit of curriculum work this year fort school, so illbe sure to include that.
Thanks for the ideas.
