Lockdowns
Has anyone had a lockdown drill since Sandy Hook? If not, have you had them at all this year? We haven't had any in our school this year and we also had none last year...I'm a teacher in the school, but also a parent of a kindergartener and pre-ker there...I want to know that they know what to do, just like I want to know that my own students know what to do, even if I am not there.

We had one right before Xmas break...the poor kids were petrified! Now a few ask me weekly if we are going to have any more

My school just had an intruder drill yesterday. I had warned my kids (I teach kindergarten) that it was going to happen, & I explained what we would do during the drill. I didn't want them to be scared & I explained that it was similar to our monthly fire drills & that we needed to practice, just in case something happened.

We actually had a hard lockdown.....turned out a second grader brought 2 guns to school....it was all over the news to weeks ago!! Crazy world!!

Yes I do...15 years........at the building...we are actually two schools in one.....I'm on the original side, the mayors phase out side, so I will need to be actively looking soon....only 2 more years left of my side of the school.
