Has anyone ever had granulation tissue after giving birth?
How did you know you had it and what was done for it?

Re: Has anyone ever had granulation tissue after giving birth?
Yes... i had an episiotomy that did not heal properly. I knew something was wrong when after 7 weeks it was still painful and the area bled at times. I went back to the OB and he said that there was granulation tissue... told me to dab it with hydrogen peroxide on a cotton ball (i did this a few times a day after going to the bathroom). It actually worked. If it didn't work then the doctor would have had to use silver nitrate to cauterize it. Good luck!

I had this as well after an episiotomy and my Ob had me do the same thing. It helped for me as well.

Re: Has anyone ever had granulation tissue after giving birth?
I don't know if that's what it was called, but two parts of my episiotomy didn't heal right and about 10w after the birth, I had a couple of swollen lumps in the... area. It hurt A LOT. I knew something was wrong. I went to the OB and he used silver nitrate to cauterize the area and it was extremely unpleasant. But, it worked and was 100% healed about 36 hours later.

I had it after my second episiotomy. I knew something was wrong because one spot hurt a lot when I sit down! At my 6 week visit, my ob told me what it was and said to come back in 4 weeks if it didn't go away and they would cauterize it. Luckily it went away on it's own!

I am 8 months PP and still have an area on the episiotomy site that bleeds occasionally and is sore. My OB did cauterize the granulation tissue at my 7 week follow up but I'm still having problems too. I don't know what to do anymore
