HR people - FMLA question
DH is in the military reserves and has been called to go away for training relating to an upcoming deployment. We were given very short notice (3 weeks) and although I have my younger DS on a waitlist to start daycare, it doesn't look like they are going to have an opening until April (after DH is back).
Anyway, I am going to complete the paperwork for FMLA for military deployment.
I have a new boss (see my prior post about him) and I am very worried that with my DH at training/deployed and DS #2 not being able to get into daycare, that I am going to have to miss extra days of work. My Mom currently watches my kids in the afternoons until I get home, but with DH gone, she will have my younger DS all day and it is too much for her to do 5 days per week.
I HAVE the vacation time built up (I currently have 22 days of vacation time in my bank) but I am worried that with a new boss and increased workload that I am not going to be able to meet deadlines that have been given to me. I do try to work from home when I can on the weekends and later at night after the kids are in bed, but I am still worried that I am not going to be able to get enough done. I am doing this now while working FT and am still unable to get it all done
Long story short, can they fire me or write me up for missing deadlines if I am covered by FMLA?
Thank you in advance.

Re: HR people - FMLA question
Ugh, from your posts about him, that guy seems like a snake.
Have you been able to have anymore convos with him?
What about looking into doing a family daycare or babysitter in the meantime?

Re: HR people - FMLA question
Well, he brought up the CPA exam again, and I was finally forced to tell him about the upcoming deployment. I basically said that with 2 small children and a deployed DH that I didn't think I would be able to devote the necessary time to pass. I said I would be interested in doing it in the future though. He finally said "okay, I'll back off".
My DH and I are not really comfortable with an in-home center, and I'm not sure I'd be able to swing two different drop-off locations in the morning (although I am sure a lot of people do it).
