What's your child (5+) favorite meal you make (preferable not "processed")
I'm looking for some new recipes to try with my DDs, and figured I'd ask what your kids love that you make.
ETA: these are so far the favorites..... Egg sandwiches (cheese, wheat bread) & side of veggies Meat loaf & chili, roasted chicken (on good days w/out complaints Loves BBQ chicken Pizza/Stromboli Spaghetti/pasta (wheat w/ just parm cheese) Ravioli (minimal sauce) Pancakes (wheat & I load with flax & banana, pumpkin, or butternut squash) Breaded chicken cutlets Turkey nitrate free hot dogs Some casseroles Pulled pork with I top with BBQ sauce
(looooooooves tomatoes & salad, raw green beans, chickpeas, roast caufliflower, steamed broccoli, hummus, cheese)
Lately I feel like I'm piecing food together to create 1 meal, (modifying what im making DH & I) but at least she's overall eating healthy...that's what counts?
Just wish I can make more "meals" that we all like.

My kids both really like tilapia. They also like to make their own pizzas. I buy whole wheat dough, ricotta cheese and mozzarella. Then I grill them.

Yes, pizza & Stromboli are a big favorite.
How do yours like tilapia? My 2 1/2yo will eat it, but my 5 won't

I can get them to eat tuna fish sandwiches - which for us, is tuna, 1 tbsp. mayo mashed together with a fork and black olives on the side. Sometimes they like it with a slice of cheese as a tuna melt too.
They like: meatballs and spaghetti hamburgers chili baked zitti home made pizza (I do get pre-made dough from the pizzaria, but I make the pizza myself) chicken cutlets veal chops fillet mingon
I serve every dinner with a veg or salad but getting them to eat them is difficult. I have success with broccoli, peas, carrots and corn. None of the vegies can have sauce or else they will not eat them. breakfast foods are always successful. pancakes waffles cereal oatmeal applesauce yogurt muffins (blueberry, pumpkin, cranberry, chocolate chip) ds will eat eggs hard boiled and scrambled too.

Favorite meal...your basic kid food.
But she will eat some roasted chicken, breaded and baked pork chops, and amazingly a bit of the meatloaf I make (which is amazing). I can post it if you want.

My 5 year old DSs favorite is the ever popular chicken nugget (or breaded chicken tender as I make) but, he will also eat/request --any kind of breakfast for dinner--omelettes, turkey sausage/scrambled egg/cheese sandwich with fruit salad, etc --stir fry --any kind of quesidilla (chicken/chese, pizza, I make one with chicken sausage/corn/bbq sauce/red onion/cheddar, etc)

I cook a lot but 3 main things my kids go crazy for are:
Syrniki - basically, fried cheese balls (farmer cheese mixed with egg, flour and a pinch of salt, formed into small flattened circles and fried on a skillet. Served with sour cream and cherry preserve.
Rice with veggies and shrimp- I sauté all kinds of veggies, mushroom and shrimp in a wok, add rice and a little diluted asian sauce (whatever I have on hand at the time — usually something I picked up at TJ's.
Lasagna - just started making it and they can't get enough!

Re: What's your child (5+) favorite meal you make (preferable not "processed")
My kids generally eat whatever I make for all of us but sometimes complain.
Their fave "kid" food is pasta with butter
Other things they really like:
Homemade chicken soup with orzo Salmon (baked in the oven with just salt and lemon juice) They LOVE steak Roasted chicken Chili Beef stew Picadillo Chicken and dumplings Any type of beef or pork roast in the slow cooker
I always give them a protein, a starch and a veggie. They like their veggies plain an unseasoned. They like broccoli, green beans, raw carrots, and sometimes they like asparagus. DD also like steamed artichokes but not DS.

What's your child (5+) favorite meal you make (preferable not
I can answer this b/c DS is 5 years and 3 days!
Aside from the basic kid food (mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, hamburgers) he like fish (tilapia, shrimp, scallops, clams and salmon) and salmon burgers. He'll eat rotissary chicken if he can put ketchup on it. He likes ravioli. Not a huge fan of steak. Likes chicken/beef tacos (I usually put black beans in them). For breakfast I make egg muffins (http://www.tasteofhome.com/Recipes/Scrambled-Egg-Muffins) only I cook them at 325. DS likes them with canadian bacon and cheese. He also eats most breakfast food - waffles, pancakes, eggs, cereal. He eats apples, grapes and oranges regularly and sometimes strawberries and pinapple. Veges he eats peas, broc, corn and green beans. Another favorite he requests is chicken pot pie (really easy if you want the recipe).
ETA: Reading other peoples answers DS also loves lemon orzo w/ feta.

Re: What's your child (5+) favorite meal you make (preferable not "processed")
I do a lot of soups (2-3 per week) and my kids love soup...I do potato (which has cauliflower instead of a ton of potato), cream of broccoli, tortilla chicken, lentil, beef barley, chicken soup, chicken meatball, vegetable beef.
We also do turkey tacos and turkey chili a lot. They like to add fixings.
Turkey Meatloaf is another favorite. Asian stir fry is fun too, because you can add in lots of different veggies, like baby corn and water chestnuts.
I usually do a protein and two veggies. We skip the carbs most nights, since they get plenty during the day. If I do a carb, it's usually a whole grain. I started this for myself, and my kids have adapted to our food changes pretty easily.

My older DS is as well - he could survive solely on chicken nuggets, mini muffins and pirates booty (I do mix it up for him though and make him try other things, usually against his will)...
ETA - The little guy is a little more adventurous but, since he's not 11 mos yet - he has time to pick up on some of his brothers poor eating habits.
