Anyone from NJ?
Possibly looking to move to NJ. I know nothing about NJ so would like some help on what areas to look into. Would prefer under an hour commute to Midtown (Madison & 30's) good schools, avg. taxes- not over 10k, and a neighborhood that can also be walking distance to stores or bus & train station. Thanks

Re: Anyone from NJ?
I live in central jersey and love it. You get so much for your money. More property and cheaper taxes. Of course that depends on where in nj. I have friends in Middletown or heightstown and they take a ferry that gets you in fast. Where I live the best way is bus. The train is about 20 mins away. I don't commute to the city, but my dad did for about 30 some odd years. Look at some areas that has a good commute to the city.

Anyone from NJ?
I have family in Morristown and really like that and the surrounding towns of Chatham and Madison. DH's best friends live in Haworth. That town and Cloister next door are very cute, small town feel, etc.

Taxes in those areas are pretty high

Re: Anyone from NJ?
I have family in Montclair. It's about 40mins into the city by car. Really nice, quaint community. Although I am not certain about taxes. They love it there.

Re: Anyone from NJ?
Yes, I agree about Montclair, however the taxes there are RIDICULOUS.

Re: Anyone from NJ?
I live in Dunellen, which is in Middlesex county but the very edge so I identify more with Somerset. I live on the Raritan Valley line and although I like the area, the RV line does not go straight into NYC, so you have to transfer at Newark. I didn't mind it at first but then it got to me and I wound up looking for jobs close to home in NJ. So my advice is if you do wind up here, try to find something near a direct line. Oh and I really like it here too - much better IMO that Long Island

I'm in Jersey in Union County. It will be a definite challenge to find one of our cute little towns without high taxes - I am in Springfield and our taxes are RIDICULOUS.
