Valentines Day cards
Do they still do this in K 1st , 2nd .... Grades you never know these days. I did buy cards for DS but not sure if they are doing anything really & now wondering if I should buy candy. Please share your school policy on V day.

Re: Valentines Day cards
They SAID no candy in K.. but everyone had it. And since then I haven't gotten any notice indicating candy is a no-go.. and every year they come home with a bag of candy.
Personally I try to avoid sending them with Valentines Candy.. stickers, tattoos, pencils, erasers, pretzels.. are more our speed.

Valentines Day cards
Many schools have different policies. My children are able to give out valentine cards but no candy. I make sure that they make out a card to each of their classmates.

Re: Valentines Day cards
I'm looking for ideas (4th grade). No food allowed at all for anyone but your kid!

Re: Valentines Day cards
I was going to ask about this. I'm not sure what I want to do but do each of the kids do something? They didn't do a lot of Halloween and Christmas/Hanukah things in DS's class, or at least not as much as they had in his daycare, where there were gifts in his cubby all the time! What should I do?

Re: Valentines Day cards
I teach kindergarten. Our policy if a child wants to send in cards they can, but they must do so for the whole class.....no candy or treats!

Re: Valentines Day cards
No idea of our policy, but in pre-school some kids brought candy. They obviously would have to eat it at home though.
I am doing knot bracelets with a cute saying that I found online.

Re: Valentines Day cards
Just got our notice cards only for their mailboxes. If you want to bring candy, pencils etc. that goes separately in their backpacks.
