Sunrise Highway/Nicholls Road

How are Sunrise Highway (Sayville Area) and Nicholls road looking? I will be venturing out tomorrow for the first time since the blizzard hit. My street was finally plowed, but wondering how these main roads are.

Sunrise is completely clear...drove west from sayville several times yesterday and today.

Sunrise between Nichols and Lakeland is fine but watch out for the entrance and exit ramps. Coming off Nichols northbound onto the service drive headed west was a bit treacherous - no merge lane, you get to the end of the cloverleaf and a pile of snow forces you immediately into the travel lane. Similar situation coming off Sunrise onto Lakeland - at the beginning the exit lane is clear then there is a big pile of snow blocking the lane shortly before the exit and you're forced back into the traffic lanes before exiting off the ramp.

DH said that Lakeland going into Sayville was clear but the side streets are a mess - like driving over piles of rocks with packed snow and potholes.

East of Nicholls on Sunrise (esp where it goes into 2 lanes) was still a bit of a mess tonight. Just take it slow and you should be fine.

Sunrise Highway/Nicholls Road

Sunrise and Nicolls are both fine. Drove them both this morning.
