Is he an integrative ped? If so I hear many wonderful things from moms who are into peds with open minds about alternative treatments, relaxed/no vax schedules, immunology, etc.

We did - to be honest, while he was insightful, I think we could have gotten the same advice/info by reading his blog and hearing him speak. You already know everything he has to say michelle! lol

Re: Dr. Larry Palevsky

If this helps this is our evaluation review from him:

1) Reviewed findings - early PDD.NOS diagnosis, follow-up Asperger's diagnosis by same neurologist in recent months, possible seizure activity despite normal EEG, self-regulation issues, problems with personal space and sensory seeking, low tone, need of deep pressure, motor tics and blinking in past 5 months, need for routine and structure, trouble falling asleep, mom's concern of dilated pupils, history of high spiking fever for 3 days after 2 month old vaccines, early walking, minimal crawling. Physical exam consistent with  dilated pupils, dark circles under his eyes, red ears, red cheeks with papular eruptions, large sized cranium, distended belly, love handles, constant motion, inability to sit still or self-regulate, difficulty with personal space and boundaries, sensory seeking, low tone.
2) Reviewed state of Cole's nervous system. Cole is in constant sympathetic nervous system activity, which explains his behavior and his difficulty falling asleep. Focus of plan is to "pull the plug" on what is revving his sympathetic nervous system state.
3) Reviewed food pyramid. With early reaction to dairy products, and severe reaction to DaPT and HIB (DaPT contains bovine casein), would strongly recommend all removal of dairy and soy products - yogurts, milks, cheese, ice cream, sour cream, whipped cream - all casein.
Be mindful of dyes, preservatives, additives, food colorings, fried foods, vegetable oils, packaged and processed foods as these can all stimulate the sympathetic nervous system adversely. With such hyperactivity and difficulty with self-regulation, would also consider removing salicylate containing foods and watch. No bananas.
Please make water his main beverage.
4) Would also be mindful of sugars in his diet (fruits, smoothies, juices, junk food, flour products) as they can stimulate the sympathetic nervous system as well. Cole has little reserve in his nervous system to tolerate too much in the way of agitation and stimulation.
5) Be mindful of amount of organized teaching/learning/therapies so as not to overload or overstimulate his capacity. Cole may need more down time than he's been getting, although it's clear that he needs some structure to function. Provide a safe environment for him to be creative and imaginative in hopes that he can begin learning and playing on his own.
6) Continue therapies, floortime, cranial work as appropriate.
7) 1/2 cup of epsom salts in the bath before sleep every other night.
8) Supplements:
Seroyal HMF 1 pellet twice a day (please send me data on the amount of colonies and which colonies are in the probiotics)
Nordic Naturals Cod Liver OIl 3/4 tsp twice a day
Liquid Vitamin D3 1000 IU twice a day
Stop the Nordic Berries and Nordic Fish
Agape from www.awakennutrition.com 2 tsp twice a day
9) Cole needs a lot of physical activity to assist him in his self-regulation and calming of the sympathetic nervous system. Get him to run, jump, go through obstacle courses, etc, which may be more beneficial than repetitive therapies.
10) Discussed benefit of potential vision therapy but wouldn't pursue this until the above recommendations have been implemented and we can see exactly what Cole's core issues are.
11) Discussed potential of doing heavy metal evaluation and the use of other supplements. If sleep doesn't improve with above recommendations, consider Xymogen Relax Max 1/2 scoop per day before bed.
12) Return in 6 weeks.
