Moms of 2+ kiddos

1. How long were you in labor w/ DC1 and DC2? (DC3 or 4 or 5 too, if you have)

2. How long did you push w/ DC 1 and DC2? (DC3 or 4 or 5 too, if you have) Or which one(s) were c-sec's?

3. And, did you feel that your second L&D was easier or more difficult overall than your first?

Dd1: very first contraction until she was in my arms...17hours. Moderate labor:7.5 hours very active labor: about 2.5-3 hours

DD2: from very first contraction...19-19.5. Wasn't progressing well and water didn't break on its own. From time water broken by dr and pitocin started, maybe 2 hours if that.

2. How long did you push w/ DC 1 and DC2? (DC3 or 4 or 5 too, if you have) Or which one(s) were c-sec's?

dd1-10 min
Dd2-6min

3. And, did you feel that your second L&D was easier or more difficult overall than your first?

More difficult and frustrating in that early labor was longer and I wasnt progressing (I had my membranes stripped and it started labor but it wasnt effective labor) easier in that active labor was basically non existent and I had a spinal (not an epi) when they broke my water and I didn't have to feel the veryacactive labor. Equally easy for the pushing stage...that part was quick exciting and mostly painless for both babies.

DC 1 - I was induced and in labor about 11 1/2 hrs before I pushed.

DC 2 - my water broke at around 1pm and I started pushing around 7:20.

2. How long did you push w/ DC 1 and DC2? (DC3 or 4 or 5 too, if you have) Or which one(s) were c-sec's?

DC 1 - 20 minutes
DC 2 - 10 minutes

I felt the second one was easier. DS 2 had a smaller head and the epi was working better for him so I didn't feel any discomfort. My recovery was also better for DS 2 (which was good because it had to be with two kids). It wasn't horrible for DS 1 but, with DS 2 I was out walking less than a week after he was born.

*DC#1 - I was induced so from the moment I signed myself into the hospital to when I had the baby in my arms.. 6 hours. Pushed for 45 min or so.
DC#2 - Baby came on his own. From the moment I checked myself into the hosital to when I had the baby in my arms.. 3 hours. Pushed for 20 min.

And, did you feel that your second L&D was easier or more difficult overall than your first?

*2nd was SO much easier & faster. Recovery was much easier for me with #2 as well.

1. How long were you in labor w/ DC1 and DC2? (DC3 or 4 or 5 too, if you have)

DC1 - around 4 hours but didn't realize until last 30-minutes.
DC2 - medically induced; 4.5 hours
DC3 - about 9 hours

2. How long did you push w/ DC 1 and DC2? (DC3 or 4 or 5 too, if you have) Or which one(s) were c-sec's?

Pushed for about 5 minutes with each - all were 2-3 pushes.

3. And, did you feel that your second L&D was easier or more difficult overall than your first?

My 3rd was my most difficult. I went without epi for all and she hurt the most and was the longest L&D

First was easiest as I was oblivious and got to the hospital crowning Chat Icon

We'll see how #4 goes!

Re: Moms of 2+ kiddos

1.
DS#1 - labor was 10hrs...felt first contraction around 3am delivered son just after 1pm.

DS#2 - labor was 10hrs...water broke at 12:30am and delivered son about 10:30am.

2.
DS#1 - Pushed for 31mins.

DS#2 - Pushed for 2mins. Little guy came right out. They said push I did then said stop he's already out...they did whatever they had to and said push again and he was out.

3.
2nd labor was definitley more easier. I didn't feel any contractions and if I did they didn't compare to DS#1. Pushing alone was much easier but DS#2 was also smaller (not sure if that matters).

I'll find out about DS#3 in a few more months. I hope it's not any quicker than DS#2 Chat Icon

Re: Moms of 2+ kiddos

1 - DS#1 was in labor for 23 hours and pushed for about and our and twenty minutes

DS#2 - induced a few days early due to gall bladder issues. Only pushed for 5 min.

The 2nd labor was easier even though i was induced and pushing was much much easier

1. How long were you in labor w/ DC1 and DC2? (DC3 or 4 or 5 too, if you have)

DC1: From start to finish 6 hours.
DC2: From start to finish 3 hours.

2. How long did you push w/ DC 1 and DC2? (DC3 or 4 or 5 too, if you have) Or which one(s) were c-sec's?
DC1: 20 minutes
DC2: Less than 1. I pushed twice, through one contraction.

3. And, did you feel that your second L&D was easier or more difficult overall than your first?

Second was easier for sure, but my first wasn't awful either. The recovery, however, was completely 100% easier with my second.
