waking them to eat at the same time?

My twins are 11 weeks old, should I be waking them at the same time during the day to eat? They pretty much go to bed around 11 and wake at 5 or 6. During the day they eat about every 3 hours but sometimes they go 2 or 4. Basically my whole day is finishing feeding one to move on to the next lol. I'm guessing thats normal but Im not sure. My doctor says not to wake them, let them have their own rhythm but I also need to save my sanity!

I always fed them :together ..... i still felt like I was always feeding a baby. I would get them on the same schedule for your sanity!

Re: waking them to eat at the same time?

I ALWAYS woke them to feed them. every 3 hours during the day. They always eat together. What ever time the first one woke at night, I woke the other so I could feed them together. Even now at 15 months, they go down at the same time for their first nap and I wake baby B so they can go down for their second nap together.

Definitely get them on the same schedule or it is just too crazy. I always woke the other. Life is insane enough as is, I needed some regiment otherwise you are constantly feeding.

Won't I mess up the one who can go longer and accustom her to eating more frequently?

During the day, I'd wake to keep them on the same schedule. Never wake at night!

Once started wanting to drop the 12:30 feeding and refused to eat. If one is doing theat then try not waking the other. Even if you have to feed him less at a previous feeding to get him to eat more at the feeding before the one you want to drop.

eg- my girls at at 4:30, 8:30, 12:30. I woudl feed less at the 4:30 so she would eat more at 8:30. Im kinda doing this again now with H since she hasnt been finishing her 8:30 bottle and then wakes at 3 to eat instead of 4:30 am. I give one oz less so she will eat and extra 2 at 8:30.

Re: waking them to eat at the same time?

I'm the odd ball and I'm nursing but I never wake. One of my guys is a great sleeper. He will sttn so iobviously will not wake him when his brother gets up to eat. They are pretty good mappers so i let them sleep and if one wakes I feed that one and wait for the other to wake on his own. Yeah sometimes I'm feeding one or the other all day but honestly they have different needs right now. I think it's also harder with nursing on demand.

Re: waking them to eat at the same time?

yay- glad its working!!

I nurse and would always feed them together- the first 5 months or so (waking one up). Now at 7ish months they eat so fast that I just feed them individually when they wake. But they're schedule is still almost identical so it works great. They nap and eat and sleep at the same times all day.
