Female Dr's or Midwifes associated with LIJ
Hi,
I am looking and interviewing for Dr's/Midwifes. I am a little over 7 weeks along and currently under Bethpage OBGYN's care.
I can't pass up the opportunity to give birth in the new LIJ maternity ward. I live in Bethpage, so its a little far, but not too bad. It's like a hotel, I heard!
I really only want a female Dr or Midwife, if anyone knows one. I was going to Dr. Ostroff, but didnt care for her.

I use Dr. Lauren Bashian. She has an office in Bellmore on Merrick Road. She only delivers at LIJ. There are several doctors in the practice but only she and Dr Annie Frenkel does deliveries.

I'm a patient with Women for Women Obstetrics. It's a practice of I believe 4 OB's and 1 midwife. They're affiliated with LIJ so i will be delivering at new hospital. My main OB is Dr. Bell; but I will see each OB throughout my pregnancy since there's no guarantee who will be on call the day I deliver. So far I have no complaints about any of them!

I see Dr. Agnes Chen and Dr. Patricia Lee at ProHealth in Lake Success, right off the LIE. They are part of a larger practice and live the pp, you see all dr.'s since you don't know who will deliver on the big day. They deliver at LIJ. I am due in late Nov. and will be at the new maternity ward. Very excited, I hear raves! Dr. Chen delivered DD and I paid for a private room 2 years ago and stayed for 4 nights due to a csection.

There is only one midwife that has admitting privileges at LIJ and she gets...mixed reviews.
Melanie Sumersille is a midwife and delivers in Winthrop. The Gaia Midwives and Barbara Charles deliver in NUMC in East Meadow.

Melanie Sumersille is a midwife and delivers in Winthrop. The Gaia Midwives and Barbara Charles deliver in NUMC in East Meadow.

I like her a lot! She is really down to earth you forget you are at the GYN. I haven't seen her for this pregnancy but will next week.
