I was wondering how old is the average age when kids loose their first tooth?

DD is 5 1/2 will be 6 in June. She got her 1st tooth at 10 months. Dentist said 5-6 is average but that kids who got their teeth late often lose them later. She has not lost one yet, but many of her Kindergarten friends have.

My DD was a late teether, got her first tooth at 10 months. She was 5 and 5 months when she lost her first tooth, lost her second a week later. The first two she got were the first two she lost. She hasn't lost any more since those first two last August.

My oldest DD got her 1st tooth at 12 months and lost her 1st tooth at 6 years 9 months. She's 7.5 now and has lost 4.

My middle DD got her 1st tooth at 7 months and lost her 1st tooth at 5.5. She'll be 6 in May and has lost 2.

My DS got his first tooth at 4 months, lost first 2 teeth just before he turned 5, which the dentist said is on the early side.

Late teether 10 mos. Almost six and just lost two bottom, 3rd bottom loose, top 2 are loose as per dentist (those don't feel loose to me). I thought for sure she would lose later due to late teething.

Dd was 41/2 Mths, lost her first tooth a little after she turned 5

Ds got his first tooth when he was 13.5 mos old. He lost his first tooth when he was a little over 6.5. In first grade he had kids that lost half their teeth and some that hadn't yet. So I guess it really depends. He is 8 now and still only lost 5 (almost 6) teeth but I am surprised to see a lot of his friends are on a similar schedule even those who got teeth much earlier than her did.

DS got his first tooth at 9 mos old but none have come out yet. He is 5.5 yrs. Some are slightly loose but nothing close to falling out.

DS got his first tooth when he was 10 months. He lost the first one at 6 years and 7 months.

My daughter got her first 2 teeth (same time) when she was 4.5 months.

She lost her first tooth when she was 5 years and 6 months (and a few weeks). Lost the 2nd tooth just a week or 2 later.

DD#1 got her teeth early around 4 months and lost her first tooth at 4 1/2. She is 5 1/2 now and has lost 6 teeth already (has two more very loose teeth) and has gotten 5 of her grown up teeth already (she was also getting her six yr molars before she was 5. Ironically DD#2 is 11 months old and just got her first two teeth this month

DS was around 6 months when he got his first tooth I think. I know he had 4 when he turned 1.

He is now 5 1/2 and hasnt lost any yet. None are even wiggly.

DS got his first tooth at 7 months to the day. He is 5.5 almost to the day and he has not lost a tooth. Many of the kids in his class have but they are all 6-6.5. He is in K.

DS got his First teeth at 4 months and lost his first tooth at 5!

My son got his first tooth at 10 months and lost his first tooth 6 years 9 months.

DS got his at 4 months, lost his first at 5. It was a funny story actually... I thought kids lost their teeth at 10, so when he came home with a loose tooth I panicked and made my DH rush him to the dentist. While they were at the dentist his teacher called about his report card and I asked her about the tooth. I thought he fell or something. I could tell that she was trying to hold back her laughter as she told me that kids start losing their teeth in Kindergarten.

DS got his 1st tooth at 11 months and we just lost our 1st this week at 7yrs 11months! C

DD got her 1st tooth around 8 months and is now 5 and has not lost any.

DS #3 just got his 1st tooth this week at 7 months. :)

DD got her first tooth around 10.5 months. She will be 7 in june and still hasn't lost a tooth!

#1 - 5ish months - almost 6
#2 - 3.5 months - just over 5


ETA: my sister was a VERY late teether - getting them in and losing them. She had to have 9 baby teeth pulled at 15 to get braces on.

DS teethed early, maybe 4 months, but he don't lose hs first tooth until after 6 years.

My DS just turned 7. He got his first tooth around 11 months. He just now in 1st grade has a loose tooth. i think he may be the only one with all baby teeth still. I remember seeing some of his friends in Pre~K who started losing their teeth and their moms had said they got their baby teeth early. The correlation seems to be accurate to me.

DD got her first tooth at 9.5 months and will be 7 in June and has still not lost any.... Doesn't even have a loose one.
