Not sure about the internet but I am pretty sure libraries have them... or at least they did when I needed them for a high school report in the early 90's :hah"

If you go on Facebook and type in the name of a town, you might find some "If you grew up in (name of town) between (whatever years)." The members might post old photos, or you could ask for them. I could've sworn Valley Stream had a page, but now I can't find it.
