When did you take your newborn out?
I waited 4 months but only because up until then DD pretty much cried ALL the time and I didn't want to deal with that in a store.

She had to have been between 2 and 3 weeks old (other than to the ped). I was cleared to drive at 2 weeks.

DS1 was born in December so I waited about 7 weeks until I really started taking him places. I was also a nervous first time mom. DS2 was born in July. We were out and about within 2 weeks.

DS#1 right away, he was born in July
DS#2 tried to keep him in a little while, he was born in late October.

1 week dr checkup, out and about in public places, 2 weeks.

I avoided public places for the 8 weeks my ped suggested, but I did bring her out to family events/holidays right away.

When did you take your newborn out?
DS went to my MIL or my mom's houses but otherwise, not really anywhere else. DH took care of the shopping. I was afraid he'd need his diaper changed or have to eat or he'd cry and it was too stressful to think about....
I won't do that again though because I remember going stir crazy. Plus DS was born in the summer and it was super hot so I never took him out for walks even.

My daughter is 6 weeks and I took her out right after her first pediatrician visit. Doctor said it was ok to take her out as long as she wasn't in close proximity to people like a restaurant. She's been to the library, target, bru, buy buy baby, furniture stores

I took her out when she was 8 weeks to get her ears pierced. I still don't like taking her to crowded places if I don't have to.
