Whose DC are receiving First Communion this year?
Let's talk about it!
My DD is on 4/28.
I've gotten her dress, tights, and shoes, but no veil yet. Oh, by the way...dress=(you'll never believe this one!) $30 at Burlington!!!! Nice, too! She LOVES it!
Sent out the invitations this week.
And my question...are you buying your DC a gift? I'm getting her ears pierced, but my MIL is buying the earrings. I'm thinking of buying her name saint's medal and chain...

First off.....how the hell is she old enough for communion. Now I feel super old! I will be doing the same with ear piercing and think the medal is a perfect gift.

Mine! I got DD dress on amazon $40!!!! List was $140. I am skipping the veil, her dress has a flower on the sash so I got a pretty white flower in the bridal section that I will put in her hair. I didn't know what to get her, she already has a cross, so I got her a pandora bracelet. Her first charm is a cross. I also got two clips, one with hearts the other stars to symbolize our love for her and how proud we are of her. (Pandora was also running a special, free bracelet with $100 charm purchase) Figured we can build on it as she celebrates other big moments in her life.

Yup we just bought the dress and headpiece the other day. Her dress was 59 from Macys. Her head piece cost more but I didn't go over my budget so I don't care.

My DS is making his on his birthday. Got a Calvin Klein suit at Macy's (looks so grown up) and he will be wearing the white tie DH wore on our wedding day. He wanted a crucifix necklace so we bought him that.

My son is receiving his first communion on April 20th .
I got him a navy blue Michael Kors suit and he will wear his big brother's white tie and white arm band.
Our gift to him is his party.

My aunt was 15 and working at McDonald's
With her paycheck she bought me a little gold ring with my birthstone. I loved it. That is what I am going to get JQ one day

My DS is making his April 21st (were also a year behind so he is 9) I Invites went out on Monday and we are having it at a country club and I hired a caricaturist!

Love to hear of all the ladies who got reasonably priced dresses. I was getting very worried about DD's First Communion next year. We actually found my niece a gorgeous dress at Once Upon a Child for $24!!!

DC makes communion in mid May. Bought his suit and shirt and invitations. All the rest still needs to be done.

I've been thinking how when K was born people would ask if I were piercing her ears and I said I would at her Communion. 7.5 years come and gone...it seems like yesterday...

My DS is mid May. Have the suit (got it from a friend and it fits like a glove), sent out invitations, booked venue, hired magician. His party is his gift ;).

DD makes her Communion day before Mothers Day. I have her dress and accessories, hair appt. booked, party booked for June, invitations are being ordered today.

Emily is also making her communion this year. We have everything but the shoes! Dress, bolero jacket to cover her shoulders, veil, headpiece (she's wearing my wedding headpiece!), little purse...just need the shoes!
And her party will be her gift!

We also hired a caricaturist (people get to take home a 11x16 drawing of themselves
