Can we talk sciatic pain?
I used to get the occasional pain in my legs when getting up from bed but for the past couple of weeks I'm getting the pain ALL THE TIME.
I thought there was something uniquely wrong with me because I had this "condition" before pregnancy and the doctor told me it was from pressure on the sciatic nerve.
I thought this pain was only supposed to happen around the 3rd tri, and I'm only 16 weeks! WTH
Did anybody else get these pains early on in pregnancy, did they go away?

Re: Can we talk sciatic pain?
I get leg pain at night while I'm trying to sleep. It's both legs.... not sure if it's considered sciatic pain, dehydration, or a potassium deficiency because apparently ALL could cause it. All I know is I tried to drink more yesterday and I didn't get it last night.

Re: Can we talk sciatic pain?
I got this occasionally pre pregnancy and am feeling it more frequently at 18w. I've noticed that the longer I'm on my feet is when I'm more sensitive to it.
What helps me is sitting in a chair, placing my ankle (of whatever leg is bothering me) on my opposite leg (like a guy crossing his legs) and leaning foward as far as is comfortable. For me, that stretches out my hip and lower back muscles which help.

Thanks. I'm going to try that right now!

Can we talk sciatic pain?
I got it starting in 2nd trimester and it hasn't gone away only gotten worse as I've gotten bigger. My chiropractor is my best friend. I tried to treat it with warm baths and stuff and was told that was the worst thing for it. Ice packs help and stretches and have dh rub it. He rubs my butt, thigh and bottom of back nightly and it helps.

Re: Can we talk sciatic pain?
I have also suffered since about 16 weeks. Sitting on an exercise ball and rolling around your hips really helped me.

Re: Can we talk sciatic pain?
Yes I got sciatic pain in the first trimester and for the first time in my life. It has gotten so much better in the second trimester but I am quickly approaching the 3rd so who knows what will happen. I didn't have it with my first but this pregnancy has been different in many ways.
