Sex and breastfeeding
So I've heard that while you breastfeed you tend to "dry up" down there. Is this true? If so what can you do for this to make sex less painful. Haven't gotten there yet but already thinking about it in the next few weeks when I'm allowed by my OB. (Just had a baby) also very embarrassed to even ask but do you leak durning sex? Do you just wear a bra? I don't know why this is such a concern for me and a worry.

Sorry if any of this is TMI...I was told about dryness too, but did not have that problem at all! I was afraid of leaking too, so unjust left my bra/nursing tank on in the beginning, while my boobs adjusted to BFing.
I'm sure a little KYwill help if you do experience dryness.

I was extremely dried up and had no sex drive! I was at the OBGYN for my yearly physical and was 15 months PP, BFing and still hadn't gotten my period. She had compared my vag to that of a dried up 80 year olds!  She had given me some estrogen cream to use down there but I never used it b/c I had gotten my period not even a few weeks later and with that my dryness went away and my sex drive came back.
ETA- And yes, I leaked during sex (only in the beginning). I just always wore a bra or nursing tank.

Thank you for the replies. I know this can get embarrassing. I just wanted to be prepared. I have a sex drive right now but just gave birth and know I need some time to recover. It's amazing going from not wanting sex to all of a sudden wanting it so bad

I always wore a bra!!! and honestly I had NO drive for ages. I was starting to think there was something wrong with me. I got my period back at 14mpp and now at 19m. I would say things are back to normal. (but normal was so long ago, that im really not sure, all I can say is that is is WAY better then it was.)

I always wear a bra with nursing pads because my boobs have a mind of their own. I did have the dryness issue. My ob recommended ky silk and me being on top (without me asking, just normal 6 week chat for him I guess haha). Still haven't gotten a period or sex drive back and dd will be 1 next Friday. I hate it. Looking forward to being normal, whatever that means.

I wear a bra at all times. Since I'm BF'ing, I don't like him touching it anyway because I feel they are exclusively for the baby..lol
With my last pregnancies, I was very dry but I'm not having that problem now.

Now that I think about it, yeah, there definitely was a dry spell and I would leak. I just weaned my son off the boob at 7 months and I am just getting back into the normal mode.

So funny this came up today, I am 34weeks pregnant and last night DH and I were  when he told me he wishes i could stay pregnant forever because my dryness has not been an issue. I've always had issues with this so knowing that it could get worse with breastfeeding, I'm not sooo scared!!! Guess Lube will become my new best friend!
