Did you tell your OBGYN

when you were going off the pill? DH and I want to start TTC this Fall and I just finished a pill pack. I'm wondering if I should stop now. I actually do have an appt. with her in a week so I'll talk to her about it, just wondering what your experience/opinions are. Thanks!

Yes, you should, absolutely, for a few reasons.

First, you should have an annual physical. Second, they will write you a prescription for pre-natal vitamins. Third, if you have never had chicken pox your need to get the vaccine shot as exposure to chicken pox while pg can be very bad for the baby. I remember my doctor saying I needed to wait 90 days before TTC after I got the shot.

I recently went to the doctor to discuss TTC and she recommended not going off the pill until we wanted to start TTC. She said that while it is normal for it to take up to a year to conceive, she said many people get pregnant right away. She explained that some women are very fertile as soon as they go off the pill.

you should talk to your dr. I talked to mine when I went for my annual in April. I told her we want to ttc this winter. She told me to stop the pill at least 2 months prior and come back to her so she can start me on pre-natals.

I told her at my last appt that this will be my last prescription of BC b/c we will be starting TTC in 3-6 months. So she presribed prenatals and blood work for when I do finish up.

Thank you for your feedback everyone! I am definitely going to see my OBGYN on the 25th and I actually have to go speak to my Crohn's doctor Thursday because I am going to have to be on meds (obviously for Crohn's disease) when I am pregnant. What I am mostly curious about is if I should still start another pill pack Sunday or if I should stop now. I left a message for my doctor but she hasn't gotten back to me yet. I keep hearing mixed reviews, some say I'll be most fertile right after I go off, others say to wait to "clean out" my system. Seems to change depending which doctor you ask. Oh well, I guess I'll find out soon enough. Sorry for rambling!
