Communion Gift?
We have several communions to go to in the next few weeks, since Emily is in 2nd grade all of her friends are making their communions this year too.
For "family friends" --- people who I do consider good friends both to Emily but my husband and I...kids she has known since preschool and I spend time with the Moms outside of that as well, and do consider them my very good friends.
What is a good amount of $$ to give for a gift?
Dh lost his job about 3 weeks ago and I just babysit from home and don't make much, I'm kinda dreading your answers!!! The next few weeks are going to be some trick!
TIA! Melissa

Re: Communion Gift?
I think savings bonds are wonderful! Plus you pay 1/2 the price but its like giving cash (kind of). Get a $50 bond and pay $25.

Whatever you can afford is the best gift you can give.

Communion Gift?
My DS makes his communion this weekend so I can give you an idea of what he receives from close family friends - although some of them go overboard. It will give you a general idea though.

Crochet and have a small business making crocheted hats and I was thinking of making each girl a lighter-weight spring hat and then including $25, do you think this is ok? I don't know if we can do much more then that at this time!

That is more than enough! And very sweet! Seriously, you do what you can and don't even give it a second thought!

Communion Gift?
So, my DS rec'd a wide variety of gifts. We had a party at our home and invited friends and family. One of my friends gave $50 (she's single) and a family of four gave $150. Someone else gave $20 and a small picture frame and another $10 and a small toy for him. To me, it's the thought that counts. I think your hat idea sounds wonderful.

I love your idea! The savings bond idea is great too. We received a lot of those for dd1.
