FTWMs do you have a second job?

Just wondering if any FTWMs have a second job. I was thinking about looking for extra work. If you have any advice on how to balance out time with LO that would be great

I do not. I have breifly thought about it but I am out of the house 12 hrs a day as it is. I refuse to give up any more time with DS.

I don't have one yet, but I'm working on it. I'm studying to be a yoga instructor. Once I start teaching it won't be any different than what I'm doing now. I'll have a couple of hours at home with DD before I head to the studio. Classes don't generally start until 7:30 and DD goes to bed at 8 so it's kind of the best of both worlds.

Yes I do.
I work as a cashier at Michaels PT.

We all go to drop offs in the morning with her. I brush her hair for school and Kiss her good bye at the door to her room.
I work 8:30-5pm at my 'day job'. I can work later (who doesnt?)
My second job is 15mins away and I start no earlier than 6pm. I generally grab a crossiant to snack on first or some granola bar.
I work 6pm to 9:30 during the none xmas time. (Xmas is closer to 10 and two days even later but thats like 2 weeks tops).
I get home normally around 9:45 or so.
AJ is still awake so depending on how starving I am, she’ll either sit with me at the dining room table while I shove my food down quickly and she tells me about her day or reads me a story. Then I sit with her on the couch and we chit chat and play, giggle, etc or even work on a project. By 10pm – 10:15 she’s in bed.
There are times I skip dinner until she’s gone to bed. And just spend that time with her.
During late nights that I worked she’d be already in bed, then I’d come in, kick off my shoes and go straight to her room and if she was drowsy we’d share a few sweet things then she’d sleep or if she was asleep, I will kiss her and tuck her in tighter.

I never work at nights on weekends. So those are free for her
I never work on Monday so I have one day I always have time for AJ and her projects.
Generally speaking I get two weekdays off always anyway.
She misses me but she actually knows this pays for Disney! LOL so she says “ok love you, go to work” haha
We make all the time we do have together count.
I could NOT do this without my fantastic and wonderful super hubby. HE makes this possible.
I picked a job at a place I like already and something that actually helps AJ (discounts and free crafts).
I picked a place on the way home from work (literally) and close enough that my ‘out of the way’ travel is seriously zero.
I don’t spend extra gas, I buy a cheap snack to pull me through the extra hours.

I do. I teach full time and then go out and do some cases in the home with children with autism. I used to do it 4-5 nights a week and now I only do it two. It is a lot and it exhausts me. I do it to pay for the daycare!

Not yet but im about to reinstate my real estate license.

I use to...i bartended at a private hall a couple times a month. Im taking the year off tho with the knew baby. But the nights i did work i had those mornings with Ds since is was mostly saturday nights i worked, if it was a friday night i would take him out to dinnner in between jobs

I just picked up a second job. I'm lucky enough that I do my FT job in 3 long nights, so I'm only away from my girls for 2 days. My new job will be 1 or 2 days a week while they're in school.

ETA: my house might suffer, but for the most part, my time with them won't.

I am starting a new F/T job in a few weeks (8:30-4:30 M-Fri) but I am still going to write treatment plans for my current company.

I don't see it being all that time consuming and I can work on them when DS is playing/in bed at night.

If it gets to be too much, I will either lessen the amount I take on or give it up.

I do. I'm a full time teacher but I also work PT at Weight Watchers. I only work an extra one day a week for pocket change pretty much. I like to have that extra job as a "just in case". I think its important to find a PT job that can be flexible if you need it to be.

we both work full time.... dh has a second job, coaching and volunteer coaching too.

I do and DH does as well. We agree that we don't work on the same day on the weekend so one of us is always with DS. We make the most of our time when we are together. We do it to pay for his school so it's a sacrifice we want to make. And DS enjoys the one on one time with each of us.

No but DH does side jobs.
