Pediatrician Recommendations in Huntington?
hey guys! We just moved to LI a few weeks ago & I am looking for pediatrician recommendations for my toddler in the Huntington area?
From my research..I'm seeing positive things about Dr. Gerberg and the dr's of the North Shore Medical Group, specifically Dr. Tomei? I was also curious about Huntington Village Peds?

We go to Dr. Kurfist and are very happy there. He's on 25A close to the border of Centerport.

We see Dr. McDonagh in Huntington Med Group and are very happy. He's very competent and super knowledgable. I've never had to wait more than 5 min either and always get same day appts if I need.

LOVE Dr. Siev at the Huntington Medical Group!!!! He always takes the time to answer any questions I might have. After DD was born, he called us a couple times after we came home to check and see how we were doing. Their office hours are fantastic which is one of the reasons we chose that group. 7 days a week, many days till like 8PM I believe and sick walk-in hours in the AM. http://www.hmgpc.com/index.php/physicians/61.html
ETA: I second the above posters comment. They are great with fitting you in and I never wait longer than like 5 minutes.

Same here, but our regular is Dr Siddique. We've seen Dr Siev a few times and he's great too!

Yes, I also like her a lot. I saw her after DD was born and she actually took the time to answer the questions I had about BF'ing and even let me nurse there so that she could see if DD was latching properly.

Pediatrician Recommendations in Huntington?
I really like Gerberg. Very helpful in making me feel better when L/O was losing weight after he was born, and also when LO has fallen, etc. They also call to follow up, which I appreciate. We did interview someone from Huntington Medical Group, I think it Siev b/c he was highly recommended, but we just didn't click w/him.

Same here.
I also love that they have a pharmacy on-site so I don't have to drag my poor sick kid to go wait for his meds at another place.

I use huntington village pediatrics. Love love love them. Dr. caravella is.wonderful. My ob used them for his.own kids and referred me there. The nurses are wonderful and i never wait too long for ky appt. Fm if you want more info.

Dr. Siev. He is wonderful. My son was in the hospital earlier this week. he came to see him and called me a few times to check up on him. He also personally called me to give me my other son's bloodwork results. My other son had a condition that most peds would miss, but he noticed it and due to him noticing it, we were able to get the appropriate surgical care. I can't say enough wonderful things about him. We always get appts quickly, they have great hours. I love him! He is wonderful to my kids.

Pediatrician Recommendations in Huntington?
Thank you so so much for the input ladies! I would really like to interview them, as we did with her other peds in SC before she was born but an issue has arose & she just had a 2 day hospital stay (can you say, holy 3rd week here?! kids keep you hopping!) after ruling some things out, now she has to get bloodwork done and I really don't want to wait! :( We want a doctor with knowledge & warm bedside manner who will listen well. Though, they are the dr's, I am a firm believer that us mamas know our kids best! :) I hadn't even checked Huntington Medical Group out but it sounds like maybe I should! Is there a well side/sick side at the offices? What about Dr. Gerberg/Huntington Village Peds?

Dr. Gerberg is fantastic! He is also the chief of pediatrics at Huntington hospital. They don't have a seperate sick/well side , but it never bothered me. We are all walking in the same halls and in the same rooms! He has great knowledge and is great with kids. His office always follows up. I have also heard good things about the medical groups , but we didn't like not always seeing the same doctor. Hope your little one feels better soon!!

I agree with all of this. I didn't want a group. I wanted one dr. who would know my kids (and little did I know that both my kids would be special needs).
He has excellent bed side manner and I like the fact it's him, a NP (whose there once a week and may fill in here and there) and his front desk staff.

Pediatrician Recommendations in Huntington?
Thanks! Haha..yes obviously there are bound to be germs in a dr's office but keeping the sick kids/well kids apart in the waiting room & the toys can be preventative! :) It's not a make it or break it, just thought I'd ask. I grew up going to a peds office that had it & my daughter's former dr also had the separate areas...it was nice when doing well checkups!

FWIW, although Dr. Siev is part of a group, he knows my kids well and I am pretty sure we've never seen anyone else there. He has a great bedside manner and knows so much about my kids.

We see the same doctor in the Huntington Medical Group! Dr. McDonagh is our primary pediatrician but we have seen all of the other doctors as well. All of them are great and they are open 7 days a weeks and have walk ins Monday through Friday.

Love Huntington Medical Group in general!! Our Pediatrician was Dr. Sara Siddiqui, M.D., F.A.A.P.
Ironically I saw her husband there too in plastic surgery for myself (removed a growth i had in my chest)
