What is a good birthday gift for a 7 year old girl?
My friend's daughter is turning 7 and we are going to her party next month. I have no idea what 7 year old girls like....any ideas?  TIA!

I was just at a bday party for my best friend's 7 year old girl.
I got her a 'girl-y' backpack bat bag - she's REALLY into softball - and stuffed it with a pack of tattoos, chewy Sweet Tarts, flavored lip balm, a pink 'monster' ball, bubbles and a fancy hairband.
Gifts from other people included:
Some make up and a glittery make up bag nothing 'real' - just some cheap eyeshadow, lip gloss, perfume, rosewater blush, etc.. plus a couple of dress up costumes. (note .. her mom was NOT thrilled and made it clear to her that it's for 'dress up only')
A Pogo Stick
A LOT of clothes and gift cards from Justice, Macy's, Target and Lina Z.
Clothes for her American Girl Doll
A couple of Barbie dolls
A few craft kits.. jewely stuff.. bracelets, etc..

I would not give make up unless you cleared it with the mom first. Lip gloss or nail polish ok - but the rest of it, no. I can completely understand why that mom was upset.
