QUESTION!
After you got a Positive home pregnancy result how long did you wait before you scheduled your first doctors appt.?

I called right away and they told me their protocol was to have the patient come in within 7 days of the BFP...so that's what I did. Once they confirmed my BFP with their own, they sent me for bloodwork and set up an appointment for 2 weeks later for a sonogram.
So, my advice is to call right away and let them tell you what to do next.

I got a positive like 3 days before I was even late, so I waited until I was "officially" late to call for an appt. I had my first visit at 8 weeks...torture to wait that long!!

I got a BFP the day AF was due. I called teh doctor the next day and I am scheduled for my appt at 6 !/2 weeks....so 2 1/2 weeks after my BFP. They wanted it to be between 6 and 8 weeks.
I have only told my sister and a close prego friend....I am waiting to tell the rest...not sure how long!

AF was a week late when I got the BFP, so I was about 5weeks. The doctor wouldn't see me until I was 8 weeks.
We told our parents, siblings and close friends immediately. Then we gradually told other people.

I am noticing that alot of doctors wait until you are 8 weeks that is when they do the first sono right? Should I just wait until I am 8 weeks?

I would call now. That is what I did when I got my BFP - they made the appt at 8 weeks - but then I had to go in at 5.5 weeks because of severe pain. I wouldnt wait - I would give them a heads up of your "condition" and besides - if you wait till the last minute you might not get an appt. when you need one.

CONGRATS!!
I called the day after I got my BFP. I was told to make an appointment for when I was 6-8 from my last period. I had to wait 2 weeks for that appointment. It was torture to wait, but well worth it.

I called right away and they gave me an appt about 3 1/2 weeks down the road. They want to ensure they can see a heartbeat and that's why they bring you in around 8 weeks along.
I was also afraid of m/c again, so they let me come in before that appt for bloodwork to confirm the PG and check my progesterone levels

I called my OBGYN for an appt. and it is in 2 weeks which I will be 6 weeks PG should I call them back and reschedule it for 8 weeks. I am so nervous. Was anyone else like this???
