Eden is about 40 minutes away from Hershey, so if you are spending a lot of time at HP, I would stay at the Lodge.

We've never stayed at Hershey Lodge, but Eden is awesome. Great suites for familiesvless expensive or comparable, great amenities, and in Lancaster. More stuff to do there.

Re: Hershey park pros!

Loved Hershey Lodge. The ability to take a bus 10 minutes to the park was peaches.. we were able to drink and not worry about driving! LOL The rooms were fine, the lobby was nice, they had plenty of activities at night for the kids. I'd absolutely stay again.

Dutch Wonderland is in Lancaster and great for little ones. Hands on House museum is cute. Lancaster Science Factory. Amish buggy rides and farm tours. Many good places to eat, too

It looks so great! Looks like you can even go there without spending too much time at hershey!

We just spent the weekend at Eden and it was great! We loved the outdoor pool area, it was soooo nice and relaxing! Highly recommend it! My only complaint is that our room was overlooking the courtyard (indoor banquet area), and there was a wedding reception that lasted until 10pm. It was SO loud we couldn't even hear our TV. I was given free breakfast for the inconvenience, but if you have small children, I would request a room away from that does not overlook that area.

Thank you! Did you also go to Hershey? Is the hotel nice enough that you can spend a whole. Day just relaxing and having fun there? Any recs on restaurants?

Re: Hershey park pros!

you could def spend the day at the hotel if you're going in the pool...but other than your room and pool, not much else to do aside from the hotel restaurants which we didn't try.

As far as eating...we went to outback one night (a 1 minute drive from the hotel), cracker barrell for breakfast (love that place) and one night we went to Miller's smorgasbord. I was hesitant but we really liked it. Lots of homecooked foods to choose from and great soup/bread/salad options too. My kids even like the food....they had fried chicken, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese and pudding and whoopie pies for dessert. Def worth trying!

Re: Hershey park pros!

I personally love Hershey Lodge and have many clients who agree. It's a great atmosphere and the shuttles are great. You can usually get a good deal that includes the Lodge, park tickets, and entry to the gardens and museum as well. Sometimes they have "kids eat free" plans too.

Be careful with those "kids stay, eat and play free" packages at Hershey. I priced it out for last weekend. The room only reservation was $279 at the lodge. With the package that was supposed to be "free" for the kids, it was over $400 a night. A HP ticket is less than $60 for an adult, so adding it up, that's not exactly free kids tickets and food.
