Timeline to receive/start therapy
Can anyone tell me their experience regarding the timeline for qualifing for services and starting them?
DS qualified for ABA therapy and speech. We had our meeting with EI about what he qualified for on 6/3. Since then I have called but not received any response regarding when his services start.
Any advice? Does it take a long time to start therapy? I'm getting anxious b/c I want him to start as soon as possible.
We are in Nassau if that makes a difference.

It took us about 2 weeks to start with services. They have to set up the therapists and they need to meet you... It will start up soon..

From the day DS got his diagnosis to the day he started services, it was almost 1 month to the day (and it had taken longer for us because I had specific scheduling requirements).

Timeline to receive/start therapy
Ok- thank you. I was getting anxious- I just want the therapy to start. It would have been helpful if someone explained the process so I didn't keep pestering them.

Fist initial meeting to IFSP meeting is 30 days. So they had 30 days to do Evals and reports and do the IFSP with EI. The. It's 15 days before you can actually start the services. HTH
