Anyone a social studies teacher.. Need units of study
Just found out I will be the social studies teacher at my school for grades pre-k-5. I am excited although it was not on my list of choices that I put down. I am wondering if anyone has a creicum aligne to CCSS for this subject. Is there a curriculum map anywhere for social studies for NY?

Are there common core standards in Ss yet? I couldn't find them on the NYS website. If you can get your district to subscribe to it, Putnam county boces has a wonderful website that's chock full of resources. I know 1st grade curriculum focuses on family.

I think we are getting this instead of scholastic news this year. If you scroll down, you will see the units for each grade and they are common core aligned.
