they will both be in fulltime school come September and will not need me anymore so now I don't know what to do my oldest daughter is a senior in hs starting September and my youngest will be a first grader............I don't want to keep getting dead end jobs but I don't think I could afford to not work and go to school

Re: dont know what to do
A lot of people still need childcare.
Have you considered putting the word out and watching other's children?
Also maybe have someone help you put a resume together.
It's tough out there right now for even people with Master's degrees and years of experience to not find "a dead end job".
It took me YEARS to finally get into the system I am in and that's with a Master's and years of experience. I KNOW the only reason I got my job was because I knew 2 people there.
ETA: There are also lots of college programs now for working people. Many courses can be done online. When I was in grad school, I worked F/T and took my classes at night.

I am not sure if you would want to do retail but I recently saw places like Kohls and Dress Barn hiring for sales associates. They even have health insurance and 401K options w/ the possibility of advancement, not such a bad gig especially if your flexable with work schedule.

Re: dont know what to do
I think you should first thing of what you would WANT to do or what area you would want to work in, and then figure out if you are qualified/if it's feasible for you.
If you LIKE watching children, but aren't sure you want to watch other kids within your home (maybe you'd rather get out into the work force), perhaps you can look at working at a preschool or a daycare center. Maybe right now, you would be more in an assistant/aide role, but if it's something you fell in love with, maybe you could pursue getting a teaching certification down the road.
Or if you like office work and have computer skills, then maybe you could see if there are any local places hiring (doctor's offices, real estate offices, etc.). maybe on a part-time basis (if you still want flexible hours or just to work while the kids are in school).
But since you have some time to figure it out, I would just consider what your preferences would be and then go from there. Some of these "starter" jobs may seem dead-end, but I find that if you get your foot in the door of something you are good at, and meet people, gain experience, etc., opportunities often grow from there and one thing leads to another.
