Decided to move to LI.......how to find a job?
I recently posted asking ALOT of questions about living on LI. We have decided to give it a try!!
What would be the best way searching for a job while I am living in NC?
I have posted my resume on hotjobs and monster but it seems like the only leads I get are ones I don't want!!
Any recommendations would be helpful!!

The visit was good......I'm still nervous about the change but it will be good in the long run!! S/O is basically doing back flips!!! LOL
I'm interested in alot of careers and have never said "Ok, this is what I want to do." I have worked as a store manager in retail, in corporate retail (headquarters) in planning and allocation and in sales for a technology firm.
I have a business degree and love working with numbers but I also love merchandising/visuals in the retail world. I LOVE the money in sales but hate sales (cold-calling, prospecting, ect.)
I'm open to new careers. I wish I did know exactly what I wanted to do....that would make the search so much easier!!

definitely check the ny times online. also try to put a ny address on your resume. lots of places will just throw out the out of state ones w/o even looking. good luck!

I would contact a job agency - they work with a lot of big companies and can probably help you more. I used an agency when I started looking for work on NYC and it was a huge help.

I was going to say the same thing. There are lots of free headhunters you can use.
Also the nytimes.com, monster.com, hotjobs.com, etc.

If you have any ideas of companies you would like to work for, visit their web sites. A lot of times they have links on where to submit a resume for career opportunities.
