how much is left?

DH and I are budgeting for the new house and trying to figure out how to afford it all. Not a fun convo! lol

Anyway, once all your monthly bills (mortgage, credit cards, food, utilities gas etc) are paid how much are you left with? What is comfortable for you? What is too tight?

I probably have a much more conservative number than others.

But one thing to think about - do you have children? If you are planning,, you need to think about daycare costs ($1000-1500/month/per child)

Also, something always breaks. Always...

I think you would have more luck with a poll.

With that said, after all expenses (mortgage, taxes, electricity, heat, cable, phones, food, gas, etc), we have about $2-3K leftover. We are very conservative with our spending. I am pretty sure this is NOT the norm.
