Restaurant help

Does anyone have a great recommendation for a restaurant in Nassau county (preferably near the New Hyde Park area)?

Here is the criteria:
-Need to accomodate 16 people for late afternoon/early dinner on a Friday
-Food must be very good to excellent (we have a bunch of picky eaters)!
-Ambiance, waterview etc. a plus
-Preferably not Italian

Thank you so much in advanced!!

Jonathan's on Jericho Tpke can handle that size group. It's American cuisine

I was JUST going to say this. No water view, but ambiance is pretty trendy & good.

The food can be hit or miss, sometimes it is excellent and other times it is good/ok. I have not had a bad meal though. There is a water view, and it can accommodate 16 people.

The Crescent Beach Club further up the road also has water views and can accommodate large parties.

The Basil Leaf Cafe - Locust Valley. No water view but fantastic food and can accommodate large parties.

Maybe try Park Place in Floral Park?

I don't think they have a private room, but I imagine they could accommodate 16 people.

I like Jonathan's but i don't find it to be trendy. Aside from private catering/parties, their regular clientele seems to be much older. Food is good though.
What about the restaurant at the Inn @ NHP?

Re: Restaurant help

I know you said not Italian, but 7th St Cafe in GC is a great choice.

Crabtree.

I was thinking Jonathan's, it is a bit of an older crowd so that would be okay. Bayville is a bit too far.

How is the food at Crabtree? I have never been. It looks really nice!

Inn at NHP has all sorts of rooms of different sizes. We had our wedding there and just recently went to a rehearsal dinner there in a room off the restaurant. Food is excellent!

We also had a small dinner for my mom's 60th, about 20 people, at Villa d'Este. They gave us the catering price for our group, but we just had a section of the restaurant.

Fiore in Floral Park is good for Italian and they have good ambiance

We had our rehearsal dinner at Jack Duggans in Floral Park, they have a private upstairs room

HTH!

ETA - sorry! Just saw you said not Italian. Fiore does have other options, just FYI

Food at Crabtree's is good! I've been there a couple of times in the past few weeks. Of course there is no water in the middle of the island, but they do have a really pretty outdoor seating area in the back.
