Need an RE

Hi,

I am currently ttc for #2. My DS was born in 2011 under Dr. B's care. I love Dr. B I am actually with him for this cycle, but I am unsure if I will be able to continue with him for another cycle ( hopefully I won't need another cycle ) because he doesn't take my insurance anymore (GHI). So if any of you have a recommendation for a RE who takes GHI please share!! I will travel, just not the city. I live in Suffolk.

Thanks so much!!

Need an RE

Check out LI-IVF and RSNY. Its going to be a personal decision who you go with.

Hopefully you wont need to see another RE

It's a personal decision- for me my gyno recommended Dr. Trivax at RS of NY in Mineola. It's somewhat close to my house and school where I teach- that was a factor. Also they take my insurance and my SO who has GHI. Although I'm not always a fan of the office- it's busy as hell and you feel like cattle being shuffled at times-.i love DR. Trivax and primarily staying here bc of him.
Good luck!

RSoNY Stony Brook Office!!! Dr Lydic!! When you are a pt of Dr Lydic you ONLY see Dr Lydic, Dr Bronson (his partner) or Dr Stelling. All three of them are fantastic!!!!!!

My personal experience...
I had a lot of anxiety going into all this. A dear friend recommended Dr Lydic...she used him twice and she has 3 beautiful children Chat Icon From the first visit he, and the entire staff put me at ease and have made this journey easier. Compassionate, gentle, patient, caring, knowledgeable, efficient, timely...I can't say enough about them!

Best of luck to you!!!!!!

This
My sonos & bloods are done at West Islip and my main Dr. is Dr. Stelling. I go to Stonybrook for IUI or other testing when W. Islip is closed.

I LOVE the stony brook office as much as the W Islip office. The staff is just overly nice and caring. You feel at home there. I wasn't a fan of the Mineola Office. To me, it was very factory-ish and I was just another patient. The other offices I'm Phyllis and they know me and my history.

I am a fan and former patient of Trivax at RSNY. If it weren't for him I would have left there long ago. Even under his care I did not feel they were monitoring me closely enough and so I went for a consult at LI IVF with Kenigsburg. He was super quirky, but shared me with right off the bat a whole bunch of things he saw from my bloodwork that were never mentioned to me at RSNY. So, now I am a patient of Kenigsburg instead.

I agree with everyone above. I sought RS of NY as my second opinion after some consultation from Braverman and had a much better experience at RS of NY. I go to Stony Brook and West Islip and mostly see Dr Stelling and Dr Halfen, both of whom I like. The nurses are so warm and caring.

Dr. Sung did both of my IuIs. Hoping this second one stuck! She seemed very nice but I've never consulted with her or had any other interaction aside from the IUI. My friend was a patient of hers and did have success through IVF getting pregnant.

I totally agree Dr. Trivax at RSONY is fantastic!!! DH gets along with him and is very comfortable with him as well. Even if he is super busy he always manages to make his patients happy and feel taken care of. His bedside manners are awesome too.

Dr. Sung did my last retrieval. We did genetic testing so we had to do 3 retrievals over 4 months. Chat Icon to get enough embryos to test.

Dr. Sung got more eggs than the other 2 doctors. She told us afterwards that she figured out a way to use water to irrigate the area to get more eggs and would pass on the information if I needed another retrieval. Thanks to her I didn't. She was fantastic and thought "outside the box" to give me a better outcome.

I consulted with Trivax too and liked him very much. The only dr I disliked was Dr. Bray, but I haven't seen her around much at all, just the one time I dealt with her.

Love Halfen and Stelling. Dr Bray is actually the one who did this last IUI and i got my BFP. Stony Brook office is the absolute best!! Every single person there is beyond nice and helpful. Cannot say enough good things about them

I personally would not reccomend RSofNY minneola. But I had a horrible experience there. I have heard the Stonybrook office is better.

Same for me. I love the WI office- the doctors and nurses are amazing. I'll be going back there once AF comes to start another (hopefully my last) cycle.

I began at Stony Brook as a patient of San Roman but he left before I started ivf. I switched to Halfen and Stelling and Sung did my retrieval. I really liked all of them and got a BFP on my first cycle. Good luck!

As a fellow GHI member my best advice is to consider what you may need done (i.e. just iui, iui and ivf, ivf) because different practices charge different amounts with GHI.
I started at North Shore, but have to leave because their IVF rate with GHI is 7,000 as opposed to LI IVF with Dr. Brenner who charges 1,500.
If I had known this, I would never have started with North Shore.

Just something to keep in mind!
