IUI
HI girls, I was wondering if maybe i can get some input, are any of you doing IUI, how are your doing with the process?
I've been thinking of starting the process soon, as the hubby and I have been trying for over a year with no luck yet. I've been to the fertility doctor and he suggested this, or IVF but I would like to try a less invasive approach first

Re: IUI
Hi! You may want to put a post up on the infertility board. Everyone there is going through something similar to what you are thinking about doing.
As far as IUI, every RE has different protocols, but typically...
Full flow is CD1 CD3: sono and blood work. This is also the day you would start meds like Clomid, Gonal F, Follistim... Depending on what med you are on you would go back a few more times for sono and bloodwork. RE will either have you monitor OPKs, follow your surge by bloodwork, or have you trigger. Trigger is a hCG injection that makes you ovulate. IUI would be 36 hours after your surge or trigger. Some REs do back to back IUIs 24 and 48 (i think) hours after surge.
All this would also depend on what RE you see and what kind of issue they think you have goin on.
Best of Luck!!!!!

I agree with all of this. I will tell you though that I did 2 IUIs and am now pregnant with twins after the second one. SO it can work, but keep in mind when you go through this whole crazy process that everyone responds differently to the different treatments and everyone's stories are different as well. Each case is unique so don't put too much weight into other people's stories (good and bad ones). I loved the infertility forum because the girls on there are beyond knowledgeable and provide you support that many times your own spouse cannot do since they can't relate. Either way, I wish you the best of luck in your journey and I hope your stay on the IF board is a short one!
