Finding math teaching jobs in Long Island?
I just got my teacher certification and am moving to Long Island from Queens before September. Since I will be living out in Suffolk I was hoping to find a job somewhere near by but have no idea how to go about finding a teaching job in Long Island. Someone had told me to check Newsday but I haven't had any luck on there at all. I am certified to teach Math 5-12, any suggestions would be very much appreciated!!
TIA!

Re: Finding math teaching jobs in Long Island?
Back in 2003 I got my job from the New York Times. I found, at least back then, that ads on OLAS went absolutely no where.
I will say though, the market has changed dramatically and even math/science teachers are no longer in demand. You may need to sub for a bit to get your foot in the door somewhere, especially if you are against working in NYC.

Re: Finding math teaching jobs in Long Island?
check OLAS. but from prior experience, you are most likely going to have to stick with your current job and commute. there are virtually NO math positions out there, and when there is one posted, hundreds of people apply. literally.
