Bankrupcy/real estate attorney
Can anybody reccomend a good bankrupcy/real estate attorney in suffolk county? When we attempted to sell our house we realized that there are judgements from the prior owner against it and we didn't get title insurance Long story short, it looks like we will be stuck here for some time. We would like to speak with an attorney to handle both our financial mess as well as our house and tell us what our options are. Thanks!

Joe Fontanetta was amazing. I don't have his number unfortunately. He is in West Babylon next to the really large Funeral home.

Re: Bankrupcy/real estate attorney
I would see bankruptcy first because often the real estate issue is taken care of within that and there isn't a need to pay a real estate attorney. That could even happen if you want to stay there. I used to handle those cases but I don't anymore. I can still tell you who is good if you want to message me to tell me what area of LI you'd prefer to meet an attorney. Sometimes there are ways to lift old liens but I don't think that is easy unless they exceed the value of your house.

Re: Bankrupcy/real estate attorney
Do you have a mortgage?
I would be shocked that a bank would allow you to close without title insurance- maybe check with them to make sure that they aren't holding something on the home.
good luck
